The Assemblies of God national office is excited to announce that Mandy Groot has been appointed as the new National Girls Ministries director.

Having served as the Ohio AG District Girls Ministries director since 2009, Groot was recognized for how she invested in creating a strong foundation for gender-specific ministry to girls through developing and empowering leaders throughout the Ohio Ministry Network.

Known as a steady and upbeat voice within the community of district Girls Ministries directors, Mandy was invited to serve on the NGM (National Girls Ministries) Task Force in 2012, a position that allowed her to provide ministry insights to both the former NGM director and senior director of Children's Ministries.

"We enjoyed a fruitful ministry season in Ohio - being district Girls Ministries director and working with our national leadership over the past six years was very enjoyable," says Mandy. "Understanding how vital discipleship and mentoring of girls is, it's exciting to discover what God has in store for National Girls Ministries as we build on a strong foundation."

"Mandy's investment in leadership development, vision to church leaders, and ongoing training opportunities will play a key role in the outcomes-based, cradle-to-grave discipleship strategy of the Assemblies of God," states Mark Entzminger, senior director of AG Children's Ministries. "The future of National Girls Ministries is bright as we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to provide resources to help churches reach girls in their community."

Groot and her husband, Tom, have been married for 18 years and have three boys: Micah, age 8; Levi, age 7; and Noah, age 4.
