GUstudentawardA Global University Center for Native Leadership Development (CNLD), focused on the equipping and training of Native American students, located in Omaha, NE, presented a certificate of participation for the Berean School of the Bible course “Acts: The Holy Spirit at Work in Believers” to student Violet Gladfelter, in her final moments on earth before passing away from Stage 4 lung cancer.

Violet faithfully attended church-based CNLD classes and was excited about advancing in ministry through her Global University training, until experiencing a severe cold that landed her in the emergency room. Tests were conducted, and it was discovered that Violet was suffering from advanced Stage 4 lung cancer, and she was given 24 hours to live. Violet’s family was called to her bedside, and her pastor, Rev. James Bollinger, was preparing to leave for the hospital when he felt led by the Holy Spirit to present Violet’s certificate to her at the hospital.

In Violet’s last conscious moments, she was presented with her course certificate, and she and her family expressed great pride in her life’s final accomplishment. Shortly thereafter, Violet slipped into unconsciousness and the following morning she passed from this earth into the arms of her Savior.

“We like to think of this certificate from her Global University studies as Violet’s ‘Valentine to Jesus’. I can envision her walking into Heaven, handing this certificate to the Father, and saying, “I love you Jesus, and I tried to prepare for Your work through these classes!””, reflects Joan Kruger, Registrar of the Omaha, NE CNLD.
