Author Joy Loewen, in her book, Woman to Woman: Sharing Jesus with a Muslim Friend, encourages Christians to rise above fear.
Loewen's book inspired Assemblies of God world missionary Lynda Hausfeld to gain a vision to organize outreach to Muslim women. She and her husband, Mark, have done extensive ministry in Muslim countries as directors of Global Initiative.
"Say Hello: Serving Muslim Women," which started in 2011, serves as a tool for Christian women to reach out to Muslim women.
"Most Christian women regularly come in contact with Muslim women, but stereotypes and unfounded fears deceive us into behaviors that keep them marginalized and lost," says Hausfeld, who serves as director of Say Hello. "A simple act of friendship can initiate a Muslim woman's journey to Jesus."
Hausfeld has organized trips to Paris to support ministry to Muslim women there. Several district Women's Directors joined her on a trip in April 2012, along with Kerry Clarensau, AG national Women's Director, to hold prayer walks, visit a Muslim mosque, and minister in a community outreach designed to encourage Muslim women that featured manicures, pedicures, makeovers, and hair styling, along with testimonies and sharing.
"We hold many common values, and most of our differences are also wonderful reasons for us to become friends," Hausfeld says regarding ministry to Muslim women. "Our defining difference is that Christian women know Jesus, but most Muslim women have never even heard His story."
