Forty-eight student leaders from 16 endorsed AG colleges and universities participated in The Alliance for AG Higher Education 2011 Student Leaders' Conference, held November 10-13 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Springfield, Missouri.

Students were treated to new relationship opportunities, exciting activities and extraordinary leadership sessions.

Bob Cook, president of The Alliance, and his team organized and led the Student Leaders' Conference events.

On November 11, students attended chapel and took an extended tour of the National Leadership and Resource Center. They then traveled over to the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary to meet Greg Mundis, the newly appointed Executive Director of AG World Missions as well as Dr. George O. Wood, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God.

"This was one of my favorite parts of the entire conference," said Tyler Pfahler, Valley Forge Christian College sophomore. "We were able to hear Dr. Wood open us his heart and his mind to us, and it really had a significant impact on me."

The following morning, students participated in strategic leadership and personality sessions to equip them with tools and understanding of others in their leadership roles. "I love personality tests and becoming more self-aware, so I really enjoyed this part," said Kendall Altmyer, junior at Southeastern University.

In the concluding session, Cook extended a challenging devotional to students, after which the students prayed for each other and their respective schools.

"I feel so encouraged and valued as a student leader," said Rebekah Darling, Central Bible College junior. "After the conference I went back to my council feeling recharged and challenged to be an even better leader."

The Alliance started the Student Leaders' Conference in 2008 to cultivate and grow the leaders of the Assemblies of God endorsed colleges. The goal is for student body presidents and class presidents from all AG colleges and universities to meet in Springfield for a weekend to be equipped, empowered, and encouraged.

The fifth annual Student Leaders' Conference will be held November 8-11, 2012.
