The Alliance for AG Higher Education hosted the 3rd Annual AG Enrollment Summit. Twenty enrollment professionals from 15 of the Assemblies of God higher education institutions met together at Southwestern Assembly of God University (SAGU) to build collaborative relationships and sharpen their skills. Participants from the smallest to the largest schools were able to share their experiences, difficulties and ideas to mutually enrich, encourage and strengthen one another.
This year's Enrollment Summit included a discussion of enrollment statistics, feedback regarding Alliance initiatives directly related to student recruitment, open forum discussions, small group interaction, and presentations concerning best practices and personnel. The attendees were also able to interact and build connections informally through meal and free times.
Rose Mary Smith, Assistant Vice President of Enrollment at Northwest University, commented, "I love being a part of this. The Alliance is doing great work and for the first time I feel that our AG schools are starting to bond and carry out our mission as a group. I am always encouraged by the leadership and honesty that each one brings to the table."
Hosting the Summit on an AG college campus was an added benefit for all attendees, and many professionals came early to spend a day with Eddie Davis, Vice President for Enrollment and Retention, and the SAGU admissions team. Topics such as administrative structure, enrollment reports, marketing, recruitment and first-year experiences were discussed. In addition, they had the opportunity to ask questions of the SAGU Administrative team. On Friday morning, the entire group attended chapel with the students.
Elise Hess, Director of Admissions at Trinity Bible College, appreciated this added opportunity. "It was great to be able to see the students, get a feel for the life on another college campus, and see firsthand what the admissions office from that school does. It is also refreshing to be on another campus and experience how God is moving there."
The Alliance team recognizes the on-going value of this Summit and at the strong recommendation of the attendees, hopes to host it on an annual basis.
